Castrén & Snellman Finland’s Best Summer Employer 2010

Castrén & Snellman has won the 2010 Best Summer Employer award. The winner was chosen by a jury of student members of trade union confederation Akava. Minister of Labour Anni Sinnemäki chaired the jury. Castrén & Snellman is the first winner in the legal services industry.

The winner was picked from among nominations made by summer employees and employers. The jury’s decision emphasised the good planning and quality of summer jobs provided to students.

Castrén & Snellman was praised, in particular, for its flexible master’s thesis programme, which summer employees can apply to. The jury also noted that C&S offers summer employees a very versatile and thorough orientation programme as well as good working conditions. The support of more experienced employees inspired the summer employees to commit to the job. In addition, the job took into consideration the link between summer jobs and studies. Castrén & Snellman stood out from other companies in the field, because enough time was provided to get work done, and students were paid for every hour they put in.

Castrén & Snellman’s HR Manager Outi Ruohola is thrilled about the award, ‘One of our values is productive balance. We work continuously to ensure that everyone at C&S can consider our working community the best possible workplace in all life situations. Today, we can be very happy that our promising youths have taken our firm’s spirit on board and consider our firm a good and challenging place to work!’

The Finland’s Best Summer Employer award has been given since 2008. Nominations can be made by both university students and employers.
